As a way to experience all of Colonial St Augustine during one single visit and with just one convenient ticket, the Visitor Information Center is now offering the Explorer's Passport.
This exclusive pass allows our guests entrance into three signature attractions and museums for one discounted price of 19.95 – a 27.00 value.
The admissions include: The Castillo de San Marcos National Monument Fort, the Colonial Quarter, and one of the city's newest exhibits inside the Government House – First Colony (Our Spanish Origins).
The Castillo; otherwise known as the Fort is the oldest monument fort in the U.S. Built in 1672, this large coquina structure resembling a Spanish castle, has never been overtaken in battle. It is currently St. Augustine's #1 visited site in the historic district.
The Colonial Quarter previously known as the Spanish Quarter was recently remodled and reopened under different management now to reflect back on three centuries of St Augustine lifestyle. Similar to a living history museum, this is a beautiful property to visit which includes a 35 foot high watchtower guests are able to climb offering a breathtaking panormamic view of the Castillo itself.
Long before Jamestown, Spaniards, free and enslaved Africans and Native Americans crafted our country’s first enduring European settlement — St. Augustine, in 1565. Discover the first colony through archaeology, history and the stories of people who lived there in this hands-on, interactive exhibition inside the Government House Museum.
When planning your visit to St. Augustine, the first thing you research is our history and attractions, if you are somewhat of a history buff, the Explorer's Passport is an excellent buy. All three of these museums could be visited in a day if you are an early riser, but if you are planning a weekend here, you could also enjoy them at a slower pace.
The Visitor's Information Center where the passport can be purchased is open daily from 8:30 am – 5:30 pm right beside the city's parking garage.
