The historic city of St. Augustine has been noted for many things when it comes to holidays and celebrations and its really no surprise to see us listed in the top for small towns to celebrate Independence Day!
Peter Greenberg's article that was published on June the 28th lists a few of his favorite smaller towns in America known for their Fourth of July Festivities. Out of seven cities, we showed up as number 4!
Particularly noted for this holiday is our huge celebration of history! Starting with the The All-Star Orchestra performing in the Plaza de la Constitucion, followed by a massive fireworks display over the ancient Castillo de San Marcos National Monument and the waters of Matanzas Bay.
As a tradition, both festivities will be scheduled at the same times this year.
Be sure to beat the plaza crowd and show up early for good seating. Lawn chairs and picnics welcome! The 2 hour free concert starts promptly at 6:30 pm followed by our amazing firework show over the Fort at 9:30 pm.
People come from all over Florida to view this amazing presentation followed by more music and fun along the historic bayfront!
If you have reserved your stay with us for this amazing weekend, you are truly in for a treat! You have beat the parking wars, the traffic, and just about any inconvenience. We are centrally located in between St. George Street's pedestrian mall and the Castillo de San Marcos, which is your prime viewing spot for all the action!
Once again we are excited about another accolade! Other small towns noted in Peter's article include: Bristol, Rhode Island, Cooperstown, New York, Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, and Hannibal, New Jersey.
