Greek music, dance and food will once again take center stage at St. Augustine’s Annual Festival, set in a virtual Greek village in St. Augustine. Originally the festival was cancelled by Hurricane Matthew; however, a reschedule date has been posted for the weekend of December 2nd through 4th!
The Hellenic Band will perform throughout the weekend and colorful Greek dancing will be provided by both Nisiotes and Asteria Greek Dancers. Presented by Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, the festival includes an authentic Agora (marketplace), and mouth-watering Greek foods.
There will be a Kafenio — serving Greek coffee and pastries — a Taverna with Greek beer and wine, a Kids Center and much more.
Held at a site to be determined, festival hours are Friday, 4-9 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m.; and Sunday, noon-5 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children 14 and under (accompanied by adult), and active-duty military and their immediate family. For information, please contact 904-479-6729.
Many vendors of all types will fill the festival, offering jewelry, arts and crafts and more.
Savor the aromas and flavors of freshly prepared Greek food and Pastries. Enjoy costumed dancers performing to the music of a live Greek band, then join in the fun. Celebrate the Greek culture that is an integral part of St. Augustine’s history!
The festival is now is now its 19th year, and has a loyal following among both Greek and non-Greek visitors.
