Blessing of the Fleet

In an annual event dating back to St. Augustine’s earliest history, watercraft from trawlers and yachts to sailboats and motor craft – all decorated with flags and bunting –receive this special blessing from the Bishop of the Diocese of St. Augustine.The ceremony begins at noon with a procession from the Cathedral Basilica along the Plaza de La Constitucion to the St. Augustine Municipal Marina. 904-824-9725 www.staugustineyachtclub.com; www.oldestcityeaster.org/events.html

Easter Weekend Vittles & Vino Carriage Tour

Join the Tasting Tours for a very special 3-hour Easter food and wine tasting extravaganza via horse drawn carriage – complete with wine on the carriage! Taste and sip your way through St. Augustine’s historic district at award-winning restaurants, boutique wines and inspiring scenery. The 1 p.m. tour includes a VIP Boarding, 3 hours of food and wine, 4 to 5 food and/or wine tastings venues, wine to enjoy on the carriage ride, and informative guided tour. St. Augustine Easter Parade of Horses & Carriages – Paradas de los Caballos y Coches

Experience the 60th annual presentation of this famous Easter parade featuring horse-drawn carriages,  marching bands, floats, drill teams, clowns, the Easter Bunny, and the Royal Family. This year’s Grand Marshall is two-time Emmy Award winner Loretta Swit — best known as Hot Lips Houlihan from M.A.S.H. The parade begins at 3 p.m. at the Mission Nombre de Dios, goes down San Marco Avenue and along Avenida Menendez. The parade lasts approximately 1.5 hours. Trophies will be presented in four categories.

16th Annual Vilano Beach Sunrise Worship Service

The 16th Annual Easter Sunrise worship service begins at 7 a.m. on Vilano Beach, The 45-minute service will include songs, scripture readings and a gospel message. Donations to help with expenses graciously accepted. Sunrise is at 7:23 a.m. Attendees may want to bring chairs, blankets, cameras, sunglasses and friends.
