The sounds of the ancient Celtic peoples of Scotland and Ireland are as alive today as ever in America’s Oldest CELTIC City at the St. Augustine Celtic Music & Heritage Festival, March 10-12, 2017 at Francis Field on Castillo Drive. Why do we still announce the event and get you excited when we are sold out you ask? Well, simply because if you can reserve Sunday night the 12th, we still have available rooms that night and you can sneak into the town early and still enjoy Sunday performances by many favorites; in fact, its often that they save the best for last. Sneak peek here and full line-up on their official website. You are able to purchase a one-day ticket to the fun for only $8.00!

Find the CELT in YOU is the event’s official slogan and this is just what you will do as you take in the sights, sounds and tastes of centuries of European history in the “Nation’s Oldest City” – founded in 1565 by SPANISH CELTS. Celtic Clans are going to show off their ancestral pride, Highland Games athletes demonstrate their mind-boggling strength, vendors offer up Celtic cuisine and hand-made crafts, and the St. Patrick’s Day Parade marches through the streets of the Ancient City’s Historic District.

Celtic punk band, The Real McKenzies, will take center stage at St. Augustine 2017 Celtic Music and Heritage Festival. The festival is set for March 10 – 12, 2017 at Francis Field.

Formed in 1992, The Real McKenzies offer their audiences “soaring bagpipes and ferocious electric guitars.” The group is known for performing cover songs with a delightful Scottish twist and a punk rock vibe. Members include Paul McKenzie on vocals, Jono Ja on guitar and vocals, Dan Garrison, also on guitar and vocals, Troy Zak on bass and vocals, Dan Stenning on drums, Aspy Luison on bagpipes and vocals, Matt McNasty on bagpipes and vocals, and Gord Taylor on bagpipes and vocals.

The festival also features seven more premier Celtic bands, including Albannach, Dublin City Ramblers, Emish, Emmet Cahill, Jig to a Milestone, Seven Nations, and Whiskey of the Damned. Many of these performers you can still catch live on Sunday, so be sure to check out our available rooms and get experience a day and evening of St. Augustine fun you won’t soon forget!
