Word spread quickly as soon as it was announced that Grammy-Award winning band Mumford and Sons chose St Augustine, Fl for their Gentlemen of the Road stopover tour. Agustin Inn and all the area inns and hotels sold out within minutes!
Not only were the area accommodations sold out but right as the band performed its all time hit “I Will Wait” during the 2013 Grammy Awards, the stopover tour in St Augustine was also completely sold out! This is somewhere around the number of 24,000 tickets!
The tour will descend on downtown St. Augustine September 13 and 14, 2013 featuring this internationally-acclaimed band. The two-day concert will take place in the events field next to the parking garage, which will indeed be filled quickly!
Mumford and Sons’ Gentlemen of the Road St. Augustine Stopover will be their first ever appearance in Florida, and the band wanted to ensure their initial trip to the state would be memorable at the perfect locality. While researching potential locations event producers stumbled upon St. Augustine, and the celebrations planned for the city’s 450th Commemoration and the upcoming months leading up to the year 2015. Upon a website visit, the history, culture, and pride of the city were all more than just appealing to the band, their event producers, and promoters.
Other bands scheduled to appear at the St. Augustine Gentlemen of the Road Stopover include: Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, The Vaccines, Willy Mason, Bear’s Den, Half Moon Run and Those Darlins.
