Old Town Villages St Augustine
The city of St. Augustine is the oldest city
in the United States, founded in the 16th century as a
defense hold for Spanish interests.
The city was originally established as a Spanish colony in
1565, and over the course of the colorful

it was ultimately established as part of the state of

constructed between 1790 and 1910, and browse five
museum galleries that are scattered amongst the
buildings’ courtyards and garden areas. Tour St.
Augustine historic homes like the coral colored Prince Murat Home, the adorable Dow House, and the Worchester
House with its terraced balconies to learn more about
the Old City’s unique history.
Included in the tour of the St Augustine Old Town
Village is the original 1572 town plan and original
records from the 16th century hospital and cemetery that
served the colony. Visitors can take a glance at these
remarkably preserved documents and gain an understanding
for what early life was like for the inhabitants of the
colony.
