Experience five great days of multiple sailing events this week operating out of the harbor of the nation’s oldest city. The event features round-the-buoys races, an overnight distance race and cruiser tactical challenges. Plus, on Saturday and Sunday, there are inshore racing and junior sailor competitions in Optimist and 420 dinghies with free entertainment for everyone at the big event tent.
Offshore racing is March 31 – April 2 and features yachts from 24 to 50 feet long. Many of the competitive yachts will be docked at the City Marina downtown and available for casual inspection by the public. This is indeed walking distance of our St Augustine Inn.
Plus, on Thursday and Friday evening there will be four free concerts on the City Marina Lawn. New events this year include paddle-board racing, in both stand-up and kneeling divisions, kayak racing, and the wildly exciting dragon boats. The regatta is headquartered at the St. Augustine Yacht Club close to Vilano Beach.
