El Galeon Tours Open Through July

Tour a full-sized replica of a 17th century Spanish galleon. Docked at the St. Augustine City Marina, the Andalucia is an exact replica of the famous galleons that played such an important role in the creation and maintenance of the Spanish Empire. Built in Spain, it is similar to the galleon that brought Pedro Menendez to Florida where he founded St. Augustine in 1565. The ship is available for tours Monday - Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturady & Sunday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $15 for adult; $8 for youth. Inside an African-American Community: Lincolnville in the 1920's

Richard Aloysius Twine, St. Augustine's first known African-American photographer, captured the essence of Lincolnville, an African-American community in St. Augustine, through his photographs. Twine's images tell of events, happy and sad, ceremonial and personal, in lives otherwise often unrecorded. In 1988, glass plate negatives of 103 of Twine's photographs were found in the attic of his house on Kings Ferry Way and salvaged. The display is in The Tovar House at the Oldest House Museum Complex.

Admission is free to Journey Passport holders, St. Augustine Historical Society members, and St. Johns County residents or with purchase of a ticket to the Oldest House Museum Complex.

Historic Weapons Demostrations at Castillo De San Marcos

Rangers and volunteers demonstrate the weapons and relate the experiences of the colonial Spanish soldier of 1740s St. Augustine.

These demonstrations are weekly on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays on the North-East gun deck. They are at 10:30 AM, 11:30 AM, 1:30 PM, 2:30 PM, 3:30 PM. Firing times are subject to change depending on weather conditions and staff availability.

Normal entrance fees apply. The Castillo de San Marcos is considered to be a "walk-in" park; the entrance fee applies to each individual.

Adults (Age 16 and above) -- $7.00 - valid for 7 consecutive days.
Children (age 15 and under) -- free, but must be accompanied by an adult.

The Golden Access and Age Passports; the Castillo Annual Pass; and the Interagency Access, Annual, Military, and Senior Passes are honored for free admission in accordance with the terms specified on the card.

The El Galeon Andalucia, a full-sized replica of a 16th century Spanish ship, is docked in St. Augustine for an extended stay. She is an exact replica of the famous galleons that played such an important role in the creation and maintenance of the Spanish Empire.

Come tour the decks of El Galeon...you're free to roam above and below the decks, talk to the current crew members (real sailors living on board), and absorb dozens of interactive exhibits, videos and displays.

Docked at the St. Augustine Municipal Marina, she is open daily for tours.

Amiro Art & Found Opens “By the Sea”

Journey: 450 Years of the African-American Experience

Journey: 450 Years of the African American Experience covers the long and storied history of African-Americans in St. Augustine. The story of African-Americans begins in St. Augustine with the first Africans both free and slave among founding colonists in 1565. The exhibition is designed for cultural and heritage visitors interested in the full history of America and its beginnings and comprises four themes: Genesis of the African-American Experience; Fortress of Freedom; Breaking the Chains; and Crossroads of Change. St. Augustine Distillery

The beautiful new distillery is located in the historic power and ice plant built in stages between 1905 and 1927. Mondays & Fridays Lost Ships Tour at the St. Augustine Lighthouse

This exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour includes a multi-media presentation with one of the Lighthouse's marine archaeologists. Tour participants visit areas of the Historic Light Station that are off-limits for general admission visitors. Participants will also see recovered artifacts that are undergoing tedious cleaning and stabilization procedures undertaken by conservators. Free time will be available to see museum exhibits in the historic Keeper's House and to also climb the 165' lighthouse. The lighthouse is located at 81 Lighthouse Avenue in St. Augustine.
