El Galeon Tours Open Through July

Tour a full-sized replica of a 17th century Spanish galleon. Docked at the St. Augustine City Marina, the Andalucia is an exact replica of the famous galleons that played such an important role in the creation and maintenance of the Spanish Empire. Built in Spain, it is similar to the galleon that brought Pedro Menendez to Florida where he founded St. Augustine in 1565. The ship is available for tours Monday - Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturady & Sunday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $15 for adult; $8 for youth. Monday & Friday Lost Ships Tour at the St. Augustine Lighthouse

This exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour includes a multi-media presentation with one of the Lighthouse's marine archaeologists. Tour participants visit areas of the Historic Light Station that are off-limits for general admission visitors. Participants will also see recovered artifacts that are undergoing tedious cleaning and stabilization procedures undertaken by conservators. Free time will be available to see museum exhibits in the historic Keeper's House and to also climb the 165' lighthouse. The lighthouse is located at 81 Lighthouse Avenue in St. Augustine. First Wednesdays Lightner Museum Tours

Lightner Museum curator provides an exclusive encounter with some of the museum's eclectic relics. The themed interactive tours are changed monthly and are designed to give participants an opportunity to talk with the curator and to see acquisitions in operation rather than just as static displays. Tours begin at 10 a.m. on the second floor of the museum located at 75 King Street in St. Augustine just walking distance from the Agustin Inn Bed and Breakfast. The tour is included in the regular admission price of $10 adults; active duty military $6; $5 college students and young people ages 12-18; free for under 12. Donations welcomed. Picasso: Art and Arena in the Vistor Information Center

Tickets are now on sale inside the VIC at the Old Town Trolley kiosk or at their many ticket outlets throughout downtown St Augustine. Be sure to ask the innkeeper for directions to purchase your tickets. The Agustin Inn Bed and Breakfast is conveniently located just steps away from this amazing exhibit. Don’t miss it!

Tickets are $10 for adults; $8 for seniors; $5 for children ages 7 to 12; $20 for a family of four; and free for children ages 6 and younger, military in uniform, and Flagler College students with identification. Tax will be added to these prices at the time of purchase.

St Augustine Beach Pier Arts & Crafts Festival

Sea Your History Weekend at the St Augustine Lighthouse

The St. Augustine Lighthouse & Museum will host a Sea Your History Weekend on February 22-23. The weekend will focus on “Connecting to Our Shared History — Genealogy, DNA Sampling in the Oldest City.” On Feb. 22 from 3 to 6 p.m., a Lost Ships Tour will feature helping the Lighthouse archaeologists to unlock the secrets of long-lost shipwrecks. On Feb. 23, a Traditional Wooden Boatbuilding will begin at 9 a.m. Guests can be more than visitors when helping artisans build a boat from centuries gone by. At 11 a.m. Feb. 16, a Smithsonian presentation will allow participants to get to know the personalities who make the Smithsonian the world’s leader in research and exploration as they explore a fascinating look into genealogy and DNA sampling. St Augustine's 28th Annual Cathedral Festival

The 28th Annual Cathedral Festival will be held in February this year. Last year’s event was held in April, but it will be back on the grounds of the Mission of Nombre de Dios Feb. 22 through Feb. 24. The 2010 event was in February as well. A fireworks show will light up the sky at 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 over the water near the grounds. A midway will feature dozens of thrill rides. Other activities include live music, bingo, kids’ games, a treasure sale and more. The food will include fair favorites, wine and beer, and the annual shrimp dinner on Sunday, Feb. 24. A silent auction will begin at noon Sunday, Feb. 24, featuring gift baskets, gift certificates, vacation packages, sports memorabilia, art, jewelry and other items from area businesses and the community.
