El Galeon Tours Open Through July

Tour a full-sized replica of a 17th century Spanish galleon. Docked at the St. Augustine City Marina, the Andalucia is an exact replica of the famous galleons that played such an important role in the creation and maintenance of the Spanish Empire. Built in Spain, it is similar to the galleon that brought Pedro Menendez to Florida where he founded St. Augustine in 1565. The ship is available for tours Monday - Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturady & Sunday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $15 for adult; $8 for youth. Historic Weapons Demostrations at Castillo De San Marcos

10:30 am - 3:30 pm

Rangers and volunteers demonstrate the weapons and relate the experiences of the colonial Spanish soldier of 1740s St. Augustine.

These demonstrations are weekly on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays on the North-East gun deck. They are at 10:30 AM, 11:30 AM, 1:30 PM, 2:30 PM, 3:30 PM. Firing times are subject to change depending on weather conditions and staff availability.

Normal entrance fees apply. The Castillo de San Marcos is considered to be a "walk-in" park; the entrance fee applies to each individual.

Adults (Age 16 and above) -- $7.00 - valid for 7 consecutive days.
Children (age 15 and under) -- free, but must be accompanied by an adult.

The Golden Access and Age Passports; the Castillo Annual Pass; and the Interagency Access, Annual, Military, and Senior Passes are honored for free admission in accordance with the terms specified on the card.

The El Galeon Andalucia, a full-sized replica of a 16th century Spanish ship, is docked in St. Augustine for an extended stay. She is an exact replica of the famous galleons that played such an important role in the creation and maintenance of the Spanish Empire.

Come tour the decks of El Galeon...you're free to roam above and below the decks, talk to the current crew members (real sailors living on board), and absorb dozens of interactive exhibits, videos and displays.

Docked at the St. Augustine Municipal Marina, she is open daily for tours.

National Parks Service personnel demonstrate the weapons and relate the experiences of the Colonial Spanish soldier stationed in St. Augustine in 1740's. Demonstration times are 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. and at 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. throughout the year. Firing times are subject to change depending on weather conditions and staff availability. The Castillo de San Marcos, the oldest masonry fortification in the U.S., was built by the Spanish in 1672 to help protect their empire in the New World. Admission is $7 for adults. Journey: 450 Years of the African-American Experience

Journey: 450 Years of the African American Experience covers the long and storied history of African-Americans in St. Augustine. The story of African-Americans begins in St. Augustine with the first Africans both free and slave among founding colonists in 1565. The exhibition is designed for cultural and heritage visitors interested in the full history of America and its beginnings and comprises four themes: Genesis of the African-American Experience; Fortress of Freedom; Breaking the Chains; and Crossroads of Change. St. Augustine Distillery

The new St. Augustine Distillery opened its doors to the public for the first time this month. The beautiful new distillery is located in the historic power and ice plant built in stages between 1905 and 1927. The distillery will offer free tours and tastings from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Tuesday - Saturday and 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Sunday. The grand opening includes the release of the first spirit legally produced in Northeast Florida since prohibition. Mondays & Fridays Lost Ships Tour at the St. Augustine Lighthouse

This exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour includes a multi-media presentation with one of the Lighthouse's marine archaeologists. Tour participants visit areas of the Historic Light Station that are off-limits for general admission visitors. Participants will also see recovered artifacts that are undergoing tedious cleaning and stabilization procedures undertaken by conservators. Free time will be available to see museum exhibits in the historic Keeper's House and to also climb the 165' lighthouse. The lighthouse is located at 81 Lighthouse Avenue in St. Augustine. Take A Walk on the Wild Side at Anastasia State Park

Learn about coastal flora and fauna on this 2.5-mile guided walk through the dunes, along the shoreline and across the marsh on a wooden boardwalk. Third Saturday Photography Challenge Event

Photographers, from beginners to professionals, compete to take the best photo at three designated locations within Washington Oaks Gardens State Park. Maps to the featured locations can be obtained from the Ranger Station or from volunteers in the main parking lot. Each month, park volunteers will select the winning photo which will then be displayed at the VIC kiosk and the park's gift shop. There is no cost to compete. Tolomato Cemetery Guided Tours

The Tolomato Cemetery is the oldest extant planned cemetery in the State of Florida, with burials starting during the First Spanish Period (1565-1763). Visitor access is limited to the 3rd Saturday of each month when docents provide guided tours. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged. The cemetery will be open from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. and is located at 16 Cordova Street in St. Augustine.
