Historic Weapons Demostrations at Castillo De San Marcos

Rangers and volunteers demonstrate the weapons and relate the experiences of the colonial Spanish soldier of 1740s St. Augustine.

These demonstrations are weekly on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays on the North-East gun deck. They are at 10:30 AM, 11:30 AM, 1:30 PM, 2:30 PM, 3:30 PM. Firing times are subject to change depending on weather conditions and staff availability.

Normal entrance fees apply. The Castillo de San Marcos is considered to be a "walk-in" park; the entrance fee applies to each individual.

Adults (Age 16 and above) -- $7.00 - valid for 7 consecutive days.
Children (age 15 and under) -- free, but must be accompanied by an adult.

The Golden Access and Age Passports; the Castillo Annual Pass; and the Interagency Access, Annual, Military, and Senior Passes are honored for free admission in accordance with the terms specified on the card.

Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays Historic Weapons Demonstrations

National Parks Service personnel demonstrate the weapons and relate the experiences of the Colonial Spanish soldier stationed in St. Augustine in 1740's. Demonstration times are 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. and at 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. throughout the year. Firing times are subject to change depending on weather conditions and staff availability. The Castillo de San Marcos, the oldest masonry fortification in the U.S., was built by the Spanish in 1672 to help protect their empire in the New World. Admission is $7 for adults. Children 15 and under are free. The Castillo is open 8:45 a.m. - 5:15 p.m. daily. Info: www.nps.gov/casa.

St. Augustine Distillery

The new St. Augustine Distillery opened its doors to the public for the first time this month. The beautiful new distillery is located in the historic power and ice plant built in stages between 1905 and 1927. The distillery will offer free tours and tastings from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Tuesday - Saturday and 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Sunday. The grand opening includes the release of the first spirit legally produced in Northeast Florida since prohibition. Mondays & Fridays Lost Ships Tour at the St. Augustine Lighthouse

This exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour includes a multi-media presentation with one of the Lighthouse's marine archaeologists. Tour participants visit areas of the Historic Light Station that are off-limits for general admission visitors. Participants will also see recovered artifacts that are undergoing tedious cleaning and stabilization procedures undertaken by conservators. Free time will be available to see museum exhibits in the historic Keeper's House and to also climb the 165' lighthouse. The lighthouse is located at 81 Lighthouse Avenue in St. Augustine. Wednesday Market at St. Augustine Beach

Saturdays Dark Side of the Zoo

Zip over the zoo at night. Six zip lines and 23 obstacles allows adventure seekers to catch sights from the zoo that can only be detected in the dark. Each participant is given a souvenir headlamp. The Holly Jolly Nights of Lights Trolley

Start a new Christmas tradition with some heart-warming holiday fun aboard a festive Holly Jolly Trolley! Get in the holiday spirit with on board caroling through the ancient streets of St. Augustine while seeing the World Famous 21st Annual Nights of Lights through magical viewing glasses. Includes complimentary hot apple cider and homemade cookies! The 30-minute tours depart nightly from the Visitor Information Center. 21st Annual St Augustine Bed and Breakfast Holiday Tour

Always on the second weekend of December, this year’s tour takes place on Saturday, December 13th and Sunday, December 14th from 1-5pm each day.

About the Tour

Your ticket will include an extensive tour booklet with a map of each day's Inns on tour, restaurant partners, and more. You can begin at any inn and go in any order you wish. This year’s tour schedule includes FREE admission to the Ximenez Fatio House Museum located on our nation’s oldest street on Saturday, December 13th’s schedule.

There will also be a designated FREE tour shuttle trolley, courtesy of Old Town Trolley. The trolley will stop at several locations along the tour route; however some walking is still required and most of the inns are located walking distance of one another.

This Year’s Tour Theme

The theme this year is “The Music of Christmas.” You may be wondering what that is. Each Bed and Breakfast Inn will be decorated with their own Christmas Music and traditional holiday song. Agustin will be become a “Winter Wonderland” for this year’s event!

Agustin Inn is scheduled on Sunday and we are looking forward to greeting all the tour-goers and visitors with an open door as usual!

If you plan to participate in this year’s event, it is recommended that you pre-purchase your tickets through the website above and reserve your stay as soon as possible. As always during Nights of Lights and the holiday season, St Augustine Bed and Breakfast Inns are the first accommodations to fill due to their beautiful and most-convenient historic location!
