Holiday
Tour of Bed and Breakfast Inns
|
December
13th and 14th, 2008
Holiday Tour of B&Bs returns December
13 -14 2008.
St. Augustine Historic Inns is pleased to announce dates
for its 14th annual Holiday Tour of bed and breakfast
inns:
Event dates: Saturday, December 13th, & Sunday,
December 14th, 2008.
Details: The association of St.
Augustine Historic Inns (SAHI) and its 26 B&B
inns will open their inns from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. each
day. Half of the inns will be open Saturday, and
half on Sunday. Trolley transportation is expected
to be available once again, too.
Taste Treats: As it has in previous
years, SAHI inns again will unite with St. Augustine's
leading restaurants and confectioners. The epicurean
delights offered at each inn are the perfect complements
to the displays of seasonal decorations that visitors
enjoy. This alliance helps makes the Holiday Tour
one of the must-see events during St. Augustine's
annual "Nights of Lights" holiday season
celebration.
Tickets: Advanced tickets will
go on sale beginning in the fourth quarter of 2008.
Details will be announced later in 2008. The Association
will be encouraging advanced purchase, since demand
increased in 2006 and the number of tickets available
is limited to ensure an enjoyable experience.
Honored: The 2006 SAHI Holiday
Tour of St. Augustine historic inns was among the “Top
20” events in the Southeast for December
just as it has been a consistent honoree in earlier
years. The honor is annually bestowed by the Southeast
Tourism Society, which evaluates events throughout
11 states in the Southeast. |

Helping Hand: As is traditional,
net proceeds from the 2008 Holiday Tour will benefit
an area charity. The 2006 beneficiary was EPIC
Community Services, which provides comprehensive
mentoring and student-assistance programs for children,
teens and their families. It’s Counseling
Center and its Big Brothers and Big Sisters programs
are its flagship services. In 2005 the Holiday
Tour beneficiary was the St. Augustine Police Athletic
Association and the young people its programs serve.

November
22nd 2008 through
January 31, 2009
The Nation’s Oldest City’s grand holiday
celebration of lights 13th Season Runs From November
18, 2006 until January 31, 2007.
From the Saturday before Thanksgiving and through the
last day of January, St. Augustine becomes a magical
city of light during the Nights
of Lights.
There is pleasure enough walking St. Augustine's old
world streets anytime of the year, but during the Nights
of Lights when colonial buildings, downtown parks and
the city’s historic Bayfront are illuminated by
over two million sparkling lights, the pleasure is ever
greater.
But there’s more than just the lights; the Nights
of Lights has grown into a two-and-a-half month long
festival of activities that keep visitors busy. |
